Create a mikrotik hotspot in the same bridge using Ubiquiti nanostation M2

How to set up hotspot and PPPoE on the same bridge interface.

This manual assumes you have PPPoE or DHCP configured in a bridge or LAN interface.

It is possible to set up all three; PPPoE, DHCP, and Hotspot on the same router and with the same interface.

I will assume you have all LAN interfaces the n bridge.

I will also assume you have one interface going to the main switch or your distribution system.

If you have more than one outgoing interface, we will cover that in a follow-up manual but you can also use this method to achieve the same results.

We also will be using ubiquiti nanostation m2 for demonstration.

Create Vlan Interface and hotspot.

1.       Go to interface -> VLAN

2.       Add vlan to an outgoing interface (It can be on the bridge).

3.       Set up hotspot on this VLAN interface.

Set up Nanostation

Login to nanostation m2. This is the nanostation that will offer wifi to hotspot users.

1.       Activate WDS (Transparent Bridge Mode) under wireless tab and click change but don’t apply.

2.       Go to Network tab and change configuration mode to Advanced. Keep Network mode in bridge.

3.       Scroll to VLAN Network section and tag the LAN0 interface with the VLAN ID set in mikrotik.

4.       Remove LAN0 from the bridge and add LAN0.45(VLAN interface) to the bridge.

5.       Change management Interface to LAN0 and set your Management IP addresses.

Click change then apply.
